A Personal Thanksgiving Message
Sat Nov 23, 2019 by Oppenheim Law on Holiday Wishes
As has been the custom for more than a decade, I like to reflect at this time of year for all those intangible things for which I am truly thankful.
To start off as we are a nation that to some may appear more divisive and apart than ever before I know that in my heart of hearts we are ONE great country that shares so much in common notwithstanding our ideological differences.
The past two weeks, as I watched some of the Congressional Hearings, I felt truly blessed to see a group of men and women speak to Congress about how they have devoted their careers and lives to serving the United States of America. They work for the Armed Services, the Executive Branch, and in the State Department or in the Diplomatic Corps. They are all smart and devoted to keeping you and me and our families safe. So, I don’t care what side of the I aisle you lean or whether you are bluish or reddish for these folks deserve our undivided thanks this Thanksgiving.
On another note, as we had our firm’s Thanksgiving BBQ luncheon today (the Friday before Thanksgiving) we all decided, like so many other American families do, to go around the table and say what we each are thankful for. The biggest surprise is that most all of us were thankful for the same things! We were all thankful for our friends and families, for being alive, having good health, having a fulfilling job and the fact that we live in a country where we can express our thoughts and opinions without any fear of governmental reprisal.
So if you haven’t in the past gone around the table, I suggest you try it and see for yourself how much we all have in common with one another. Then you will know why I love this time of year… for it is literally the only time we all take a pause and a deep breath to reflect how much we all truly have in common with one another. Maybe just maybe we can learn from this day and make every day a little more Thankgivingish.
From Ellen and my work and home families we wish all of you my friends, colleagues and extended family a wonderful and safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
Well said. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Wishing all of you a safe and happy holiday season.

Enjoy your emails,Roy.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness
Your words show inner wisdom and are an encouragement to those of us who are living thru very difficult times, but still believe we have a great country worth our sacrifice.
Blessings to you, your family and your staff.
